The vision for Highmead is the delivery of a high quality beacon development that will act as a catalyst for change and will attract people to buy into the area, enabling the local economy to thrive.
The 0.6 hectare site will provide around 120 residential properties (62% private / 38% affordable), along with 1,513 square metres of commercial space on Fore Street and a 240 square metre community building on Alpha Road.
The council has prioritised quality of design at the heart of its strategy and the appointment of architects Hawkins and Brown will enable the design of a premium mixed usage development. Work on site will start in early 2012 through the developer Countryside Properties whose RSL (Registered Social Landlord) partner is Newlon Housing Trust.
