Ally Pally to be World Heritage site?

The Alexandra Palace and Park Trust board is to try to get the building designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The bid is focussed on the south-east wing, which was home to the world’s first high-definition television broadcast in November 1936. The Trust hope that regardless of success, the bid will help kickstart the regeneration of the BBC studios and the whole south-east wing, which has fallen into disrepair.
